Talking

i can't get her voice out of my ears....was voted in college "Most ugly man on campus"...then went to be called the voice of the 70's....that voice screamed her pain in such soft phrases....

i was in love with her then and a Biography made me remember tonight...

She died at 27....i miss her...

Red face

and who ms amy are you missing?

and it may be a good night to listen to some of janis' songs.....

she faced soooooo much adversity...soooo much rejection...then went back to a high school reunion (after being called a whore and a n-lover in high school due to her liberal views)
and got to laugh in the fools faces while she was famous...(her parents left town for two days embarrassed by her actions)

it take guts to face the world and make your own way...to make peace with the person within...the one in the mirror. no one says it is easy...hell if it were we would not need shrinks and drugs...but it is needed...for all of us to some time or another take stock of what is good for us and bad and be ready to discard shit. we need not talk shit-play with shit-deal with shit...we are NOT in the shit business...i can say this because i've done it..faced a bad, addicted, controling, pessimistic, bastardlike, man in that mirror and said..."enough".
"Enough"...what a simple word...enough....

i can't be you...i can't even pretend that i know what it is you are going thru to post such sad posts....and i'm glad you have this outlet to do so..but i have found in my own fucked up world...you sometimes gotta stop all the madness and begin again- losing friends that never were real-losing promises that were not true and losing who you thought you were because, even that was not possible.

amy, when it all comes down to earth- you are who you need. anything and anyone else is secondary.
no amount of back patting- or hugs or kisses will do more for you than looking into yourself and taking what good you find and expanding it...taking what you don't like and expelling it and making sure that you are okay before you slide out of bed.

an old mans advice...i know...and one i don't think you are very happy with due to whatever reasons...but i felt the need to post and so i did.

i know you will find your peace in this world...it's out there...

Dave..while i know this was for amy..i felt strongly about your post..your words are so very true..and something i had to find out awhile back..amy is lucky to have all of us here to offer words of encouragment, wisdom, love and to fill a space we all have inside. Sometimes we dont want to hear certain words..or heed certain advice..but thats ok too if we dont..it was said..and no words left here go unread or unheard..remember that.. thanks for the words dave!

<font size="4" face="Tempus Sans ITC, Verdana, Arial">words so very true...i couldnt face that person
in the mirror at all...i hated who she was, who
she had become...until someone made me realize
i had to put me first...even before my lil men..
cause i was living my life for them...everything
i did was for them....and i needed to take care
of me to be a better mom for them...and to do
that...i had to find a safe place for me...to be
able to give them a better life...once i could
look at that person in the mirror and say..hey..
you did what you had to do...you are safe...you
are making yourself better...and for the first
time in my life...i really loved me....only then
could i become a good mom...and i feel so much
freer...and happier...happier then i have ever
been in my life...it has taken me over 3 years..
and its a slow process...getting over fears and
feelings...and i still have some demons to face..
(not you AMY )but i am stronger today..
and i know i can finish this long journey...
cause i am me...some may put me in the bitch
category cause i dont take shit like i used too..
so be it...i am a bitch...
Being
In
Total
Control of
Herself!
i thought i was before...but i was only fooling
myself...but today...i can honestly say i have
earned that name cause i am in control now...

back to the subject...Janis...such strong words..
for a small woman...who was judged unfairly...
and died way too soon....her words back then...
can only imagine what she would say today!
